It's been while

So, as the title says it's been a while since I posted any paintings on here. I have been painting but I've found I'm doing things differently. For the first time ever I painted over a painting I wasn't happy with, as in completely white over and started again with a totally new idea. It's horribly wasteful to not reuse my cocked up canvases I know but somehow paintings I could not complete always felt tainted to me and like the failing of that painting would seep into anything I tried to paint over it. I never threw the canvases out, they just gathered dust in the corner of the room. This time I tried a new approach. Instead of viewin

what price art?

0 min read
So, often I get asked if I sell my paintings and if so what do I charge? Well, there's the rub, what DO you charge for something that has no intrinsic value other than the cost of paint and canvas and time? I've tried the cost of materials + my hours spent on it charged at the usual hourly rate at current place of work and sometimes I come up with a price that seems ok, sometimes it seems too much, sometimes too little. I find it hard to charge a price for something I've created purely because I made it so somehow it seems to hold no value (I don't mean that in a 'my work is worth nothing' way just that I can't put a monetary value on it)

I am a major doofy. I activated this account 4 years ago to have somewhere to put my art work and then forgot the password. Several years later, also known as last week, I thought, 'I'll just do the retrieve password' thing, forgetting (it's a bit of a theme isn't it?) that I had changed my email address. Thankfully all that is sorted now and I'm back and uploading the stuff I've created in the meantime phew

Thanks for the watch!!!!
I love your work! It's nice to see pagan imagery without a lot of hype. Beautiful in its simplicity.
Thankyou so much for the positive comments, I would have replied sooner bu I forgot my password and that I didn't have the same email anymore so I've only just managed to get my profile sorted so I can get on again haha

Thanks again :)
